The hair (like head hair) and fur (like bear fur) has the same node set-up, which is for the better anyway. Unlike other hair set-up like vrayhair or c4d hair where they have a separate or dedicated fur object/settings.
Not quite the same as increasing actual segment hair points for more fidelity but for smoothing, it gets the job done.:

Uhm If its invalid rest position. Just add an empty hur and delete it. Invalid UV, just drop the UV back again. in the curve tab
sculpt mode and attached to the nearest deform face.
